Raul "Nox" Alvarado

Raul holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from St Leo's University as well as an AS in Microbiology (Virology) Worcester State University and is a retired US Navy combat vet ( FCC (SW / AC / VBSS) 1990 - 2004) who served in 3 wars and various international operations.
Raul has competed in HEMA tournaments in the US, been a Fight chorographer for Sherwood Forest Faire for 5 years, Fight Director for the New Braunfels Renaissance faire for 2 years, runs a competitive LARP league, and he is the Coordinator and Co Producer of Capital Combat. Raul has created fight choreography for the Long Center Sunday Brunch in 2023 and various theater companies in the Austin area in 2024. The works he has had a hand in creating choreography for include; The Three Musketeers (UIL) , Mas que Pantalone’s, as well as his own adapted play of Romeo Verses Juliet.

George is an Advanced Actor Combatant with the SAFD. He is the Co-Deputy Fight Director at the Sherwood Forest Faire and a graduate of the Central Illinois Stage Combat Teacher Trainer.

Toby has been teaching Stage Combat and employed as the Drama Director at Texas State University since 2012. He is an award-winning actor and fight choreographer all around Austin, including Austin Shakespeare, the ZACH Theater, the Austin Playhouse, and the Creede Repertory Theatre.
Amie Root

Amie Root is a full time traveling Fight Director and Stage Combat Instructor. She is a Certified Teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors. Amie has become one of the nation's leading thinkers on the teaching of "teaching stage combat". She produces the annual Central Illinois Stage Combat Teacher Trainer.
Patrick "Pat" Kelly

Patrick (he/him) has studied Jun-fan Kickboxing, Wing Chun Gung Fu, Muay Thai, Savate, Escrima, Silat, Hapkido, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Fencing, Archery, and tactical firearms.
Patrick worked on the Stunt/Fight Team for the Vikings and Vikings: Valhalla television series. He served as consultant and action designer for The Wick Lab, a metabolic and injury analysis for the John Wick movie franchise. He has served as Stunt Coordinator for several feature films including So Cold The River, Runner, and The Duel, starring Dylan Sprouse, in addition to docu-dramas, stage productions, music video and mo-cap. Patrick is currently the Director of Martial Arts at Indiana University.
Adam Noble

Adam (he/him) has over 25 years of experience as a movement specialist serving the worlds of theatre, film and opera. He is Head of MFA Acting at the University of Houston, resident fight director and intimacy specialist at the Alley Theatre, and Butler Studio. He is also the Movement Instructor for the Houston Grand Opera.
Adam teaches movement both nationally and internationally, and has choreographed the physical storytelling for well over 200 stage and film productions.

Samantha (she/her) is an intimacy director, fight director, and actor. Based in Chicago and working internationally; Samantha is a certified intimacy director with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators as well as a certified teacher with the Society of American Fight Directors.
Regionally, Samantha has worked with theatres such as Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Prague Shakespeare Company (Czech Republic), Cleveland Play House, among others. A 2020 graduate of UT Austin, Amber's love for stage combat was heavily driven by their addiction to shonen manga, bad D&D movies, and (affectionately) fighting with their seven siblings. They are excited to return to Capitol Combat and the Texas Intensive this year as an assistant coordinator, and look forward to finding new ways to assert dominance over the younger children still living at home.

Justin holds a BFA from the University of Houston: School of Theatre & Dance. He practices Historical European Martial Arts focusing in rapier and bolognese sidesword. Justin has developed fight choreography for the world premier of Tooth & Toilet Mildred’s Umbrella Theatre Co., Macbeth at Clear Creek Community Theatre and for the Houston Shakespeare Festival (2018), Cymbeline at University of Houston (2018), Romeo & Juliet at Moores Opera House(2017) , The Three Musketeers at Alley Theatre (2019), and provided skills workshops and show choreography for many high schools in the greater Houston area.
